Best vegetarian restaurant in South Goa? (Not Palolem Beach Shacks)
Tired of tourist prices on the beach. Looking for proper restaurant with great paneer dishes, vegetable thali, and local Goan vegetarian cuisine. Budget around ₹1500-2000 for two. Any suggestions from locals or long-term visitors? Especially interested in places with authentic Goan vegetarian recipes.

Try Swaad in Margao — their paneer lababdar and dal tadka are outstanding. Pure veg restaurant with great ambience. Meal for two comes to about ₹800-1000 with drinks. Locals love it.

For authentic Goan vegetarian, go to Anand Bar in Colva. Their mushroom xacuti and vegetable cafreal are made with traditional recipes. It's a no-frills place but the food is incredible. Well within your budget.

Blue Planet Cafe near Patnem beach does amazing veggie bowls, stuffed parathas, and fresh juices. Not strictly Goan cuisine but the quality is top-notch. Great for breakfast and lunch — closes by 6pm though.

Martin's Corner in Betalbatim has excellent vegetarian options despite being known for their other dishes. Their paneer tikka and dal fry are both fantastic. A bit pricier but worth it for the atmosphere and live music on weekends.
